Sorry for the delay in posts! I’ve been a little busy the past few weeks. In the next few days, things should return to normal. On a side note, I picked up a Sony NEX 5N which I’ll be reviewing within the next week. Due to inclement weather, I haven’t been able to test it out like I want to yet but I have grabbed a couple of random shots around the house. I can say confidently that this little camera packs quite the punch and will be a more than capable B-Roll counterpart to my larger NEX FS100. Here’s a few stills to hold you over until the full review.
I finally got around to checking out Realm Pictures’ “Zomblies” Short Film today and I was absolutely blown away! The production value and VFX on this are amazing. It’s rare that you come across a YouTube gem and it’s a shame that this only has 6,100 views. If you’re an indie filmmaker and love zombies, Resident Evil, or the Walking Dead, give this a try.
I just wanted to share one of my favorite blogs on cinematography, lighting diagrams, color grading tips and tutorials! There’s even RED footage for you to download and experiment with for yourself. This tutorial on “the film look” should be required viewing for all filmmakers. Check it out!
Here’s a link to the Clean Version of Young Tigg – “Wrist Work” (Official Music Video), which I edited and was DP for. I shot this using the Sony NEX FS100 primarily with the Sony E Mount 16mm f/2.8 pancake lens and the Sony 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 kit lens for the performance and the jib shots, and the Rokinon 35mm f/1.4 EF lens for the mediums and closeups.
I used Frank Glencairn‘s Glencolor profiles.
